The situation relating to Coronavirus (COVID-19) in New Zealand and around the globe is developing rapidly and you’re no doubt keeping on top of the latest information and guidance from sources like the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organization.
While the focus is all on the Coronavirus, many people will be dealing with other health concerns at this time, which is why we want to ensure you are aware of the benefits of the virtual care services delivered by Best Doctors for our members and your families during this period.
While Best Doctors can’t directly treat symptoms linked to COVID-19 and doesn’t replace someone’s primary treatment provider, it can provide virtual support to people looking for guidance and clarity on a health condition but who may not want to travel to clinics or hospitals in the current climate.
Best Doctors services are delivered remotely and virtually which means that you can be connected with nurses, doctors and specialists without the need to travel or make a physical appointment – helping to reduce community exposure. Support from Best Doctors is delivered to you in your own home – via phone, email and/or video conference*. This includes support for mental health* challenges such as depression and anxiety, which may be exacerbated when authorities are recommending periods of self-isolation.
Remember, Best Doctors doesn't provide treatment and doesn’t replace the need to visit the doctor or hospital for anything urgent.
Simply contact Best Doctors and they’ll do the rest. You'll speak to a member of their clinical team who will establish how they can best help based on your situation.
Call Best Doctors on 0800 425 005 between 11am and 7pm, Monday to Friday. Or register online.
Access to Best Doctors is available to all customers of Accuro who have hospital and surgical cover included in their policy. Best Doctors is available for any family member listed on the policy.
*Access to mental health assistance and video conferencing is only available to those Accuro members who have the Specialist plan included on their policy.
